Welcome to the wild world of ZOONOOZ

What is ZOONOOZ? Well, for one thing the title is a palindrome: the same forward, backwards, and upside down! Beyond that, it is the San Diego Zoo's member magazine, 32 pages of colorful animal and event information published every month.

First published in 1926, it is one of the benefits included in becoming a member of the San Diego Zoo, and most of the 250,000 plus circulation is mailed to our members.

What will you find in ZOONOOZ?

If you want to be in the know, ZOONOOZ is for you!

ZOONOOZ® Magazine: November 2007

The Many Faces of Conservation
2008 Calendar Issue

How sweet! The Zoo’s newest okapi calf, Sukari (Swahili for “sugar”) is the focus of all her mom’s attention. We have had great success in meeting the needs of these rare and intriguing rain forest animals, resulting in healthy breeding herds both at the Zoo and the Park. Recently, two of our okapis Okapia johnstoni took up residence at the Pretoria Zoo in South Africa. As the first okapis in an African zoo, they will raise conservation awareness for visitors who may have been unaware that such remarkable animals exist on their continent.
