The San Diego Zoo's gift shops feature an array of fascinating gifts from around the world: jewelry, African art objects, clothing, books, and music. And, of course, we have the usual souvenirs, sundries, T-shirts, hats, film, and treats. Merchandise carts are located throughout the Zoo, as well as at these featured shops:
GREENZOO (next to Monkey Trails and Absolutely Apes): Our newest gift shop offers nothing but Earth-friendly products. You'll find toys and puzzles created from bamboo and recycled paper products; huge baskets that used to be old tires; magazines turned into bowls, vases, and picture frames; fair-traded food items, from coffees and teas to honey and palm sugar; crafts made of sustainable materials; and organic cotton T-shirts. Go Green!
Watch gourd carver Teodoro Hurtado Laveriano at work during Nighttime Zoo.
During Nighttime Zoo (through August 31):
Returning from Huancayo, Peru, Pablo Teodoro Hurtado Laveriano will be intricately carving the lagenaria vulgaris gourd. The technique involves etching fine lines into the gourd with a scalpel called a buril, creating a series of drawings that generally represent active scenes of farming life. A finished gourd might become a birdhouse, bowl, box, or even a basket. Visit Pablo at GREENZOO to see this amazing handcrafted art Tuesdays–Sundays, 11 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
Kioko Mwitiki, a renowned metal sculptor from Kenya, breathes life into recycled metal. These unique metal animal designs have been exhibited across East Africa, Europe, and now the San Diego Zoo! Recognized as a pioneer, Kioko doesn't use any new iron sheets for his artwork; instead, he uses what most of us would consider rusty recyclables, from food cans to vehicle parts. Visit Kioko at Sun Bear Forest July 7–September 2.
ZooStore and Kid's Store (at the exit): International gifts, gourmet foods, film, digital products, DVD’s, sundries, apparel, hats, jewelry, stationery, books, toys, stuffed animals, and much more!
Cinnamon Tree (at the entrance): Everything you need to start your day! Film, digital cards, sunscreen, hats, sundries, sweatshirts, guidebooks, postcards, and specialty candy counter.

Panda Shop (near Canyon Café and Giant Panda Research Station): An entire shop devoted to all things panda! Panda hats, T-shirts, sweatshirts, stuffed animals, toys, posters, slippers, mugs...even a panda umbrella with pop-up ears!
Sydney's Shoppe (adjacent to koalas): From the land down-under, exclusive Aussie-themed gifts and souvenirs! Toys, music, books, and T-shirts.
Arctic Trader (next to Polar Bear Plunge): “Cool” polar bear gifts and souvenirs! Also available are film, candy, hats, and more.
Camera Den (Front Plaza): Film, digital cards, single-use cameras, and postcards; souvenirs, strollers, wheelchair and electric conveyance vehicles available for rent.
