Calendar: Cheetah Run Safari
At
the WILD ANIMAL PARK
Cheetah Run Safari takes place at the Wild Animal Park.
Witness the world’s fastest mammal do what it does best—run! Cheetah Run Safari takes small groups of spectators to a beautiful, rustic camp at the Wild Animal Park called Cheetah Outpost. From here you'll prepare to feel the wind whoosh by as the sleek African cat bolts past, mere feet away, after a mechanical rabbit lure. “Running our cheetahs keeps them in great shape and gives them a stimulating exercise outlet,” says a senior animal trainer. “It gives us a more relaxed cat who lets out a thunderous purr after a run that lets us know the cheetah is happy.”The unique opportunity to witness a cheetah sprinting is available on weekends by reservations only to a limited number of guests. In addition to seeing the fastest land mammal running, the 11/2-hour experience includes up-close encounters with other African wildlife, light refreshments, and a 5 x 7 photo of our cheetah.
Park admission is required (program does not include Wild Animal Park admission or parking). For safety reasons, children need to be at least 8 years of age. Children ages 8–15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and have proof of age. A maximum of two children per adult allowed. Dates and hours subject to change due to animal health and safety reasons.
Book two or more selected tours* and save! Available through advanced phone reservations only. Other restrictions may apply. (*Cheetah Run Safari, VIP Tour, Roar & Snore, Photo Caravan) |
